Olsson’s Equine Blocks are formulated for horses grazing pastures of buffel, kikuyu, setaria, and some of the other exotic grasses. When on these pastures for extended periods horses develop the condition known as “Big Head”. This condition occurs because the calcium in the grass, although often at the correct concentrations, becomes unavailable to the horse due to phosphorus excess in the diet, with symptoms such as swollen and sore bones, big head, and milk fever in pregnant mares. Olsson’s Equine Block has been successful in helping alleviate the clinical signs brought on by the condition “Big Head”.
Feeding Instructions: Use in accordance with the Olsson Indicator system. Horses: 4kg per horse per week or 1 block per 10 horses per week. Remove outer carton and plastic cover and place blocks near water troughs, dams, pads and stock camps. Intake is recommendation only, higher intakes are normally the result of mineral deficiencies. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Storage Instructions: Store out of direct sunlight and under cover. Store below 30ºC (room temperature).
